The Teaching Methods
  • Medium of instruction will be Japanese, and the usage of mediate languages for explanation will be extremely limited.
  • A well prepared and balanced syllabus giving importance to all four learning categories of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing Japanese.
  • Modern approaches adopted to practice in using meaningful Japanese in communicative activities.
  • A variety of special techniques for encouraging group co-operative interaction and learner independence.
  • Special attention to fluency and accuracy and activities, which promote self-expression, will be introduced.
  • A friendly, informal, productive and relaxed atmosphere.
Acedemic Terms
  • January to June and July to December
  • Totally 80 hrs. of Class Sessions would be completed within the period of Six months

Lesson will be held at the Sasakawa Center, No. 4, 22nd Lane, Colombo 03 (opposite Hotel Cinnamon Grand)

 

Special Japanese Language Course for EJU (Entrance Examination for Japanese Universities)

  • A Special Japanese Language Class has now been commenced to assist those who aspire to enter Japanese Universities for Graduate Studies.
  • The duration of the Class would be approximately 48 hours.
  • A well qualified Teacher will conduct this Course.
  • Please contact the JLEA Office for further Information.
Applications & Registration
  • Applications would be issued from 15 Nov  to 31 December for the Term January to June and from 15 May to 30 June for the Term July to December.
  • Application forms will be issued at the office of the Japanese Language Education Association of Sri Lanka at No. 4, 22nd Lane, Colombo 3.
  • Those who have not studied Japanese before, should obtain the application forms for the Beginners’ Class.
  • The duly completed application form and 2 passport size photographs should be handed over along with the Full/Part payment of Course Fee for the registration of Beginners' Course.  A Representative of the applicant may come for the registration.
  • Since there will be limited vacancies, registration will be on "First-Come-First-Served" basis.
  • Those who have studied Japanese before (in another Institution other than at JLEA) should sit for the Placement Test.  Placement Test would be held on first Saturday of January and July for the Terms January to June and July to December respectively. Registration for the Placement Test should be done during the application period.
  • The Placement Test will consist of a Written Test and an Interview.
  • Examinees of the Placement Test should produce the receipt of the Test Fee and the Identity Card at the time of the Examination.
  • The results of the Placement Test will be notified by post.  Please be present for registration on the date mentioned along with the letter received.
